I'm like really suckish at softball now?

I've played softball for 5 years. Took a break for a year and started back up playing.. And.. I like can't get the Infield balls.. I always miss them and the girls on my team that have never played before can get them.. :/ It just makes me mad because I don't want to be out field. I am in ponytails (11 and 12 year olds) I wear a face mask. And, I've never played out field. I've only played In field Second Base. I want that position this year... So how do I become good at it?! Like fast? And how to get good at hitting? Please help me.. :(
