Are the Padres contenders for NL West now?

As they stand right now.... they're bound for a 4th pace finish (ahead of the Diamondbacks) and a 78-84 record, they have no fear factor anymore, with Adrian Gonzalez gone, there is no legit power threat in their line-up.
