Injection contraception? please help?

Well my girlfriend is currently on the injection contraception, she has been on it since March. she was supposed to go and get it done again today however she missed it, she is getting it done tomorrow morning. she is coming to see me on the 9th June and all I want to know is would it be safe to have sex, will the injection be in effect by then?
