Why are Americans so foolish for giving crooks bailouts instead of imprisonment?

Blue collar crime gives you a much higher sentence than white collar criminals. You can steal billions and just get 6 to 9 months in jail. But if you steal a loaf of bread your looking at 5 to 10 years instead. Your prison system is modern day slavery.
