What is the Infield at NASCAR all about? I need help! the do' & don't's?

It's pretty much all in the fan guide. Download one here...a href="http://www.darlingtonraceway.com/Experience-Darlington/Guest-Guide.aspx" rel="nofollow"http://www.darlingtonraceway.com/Experie…/a Page 28 talks about the infield rules. Most importantly, BRING WALKING SHOES! Don't get stuck with flip flops or you'll pay the price. Also, many pit roads/garage areas require closed toe shoes, socks, long pants, etc. Also, stop at a hunting store (or Wal-Mart has them) and get a $10 set of ear protection. Don't rely on the little foam earplugs, get an over the head set. They also make them with radios built in. I prefer this, as I can listen to the radio broadcast while at the race and actually know what's going on. The track always broadcasts MRN/PRN's broadcast on a low number station (90.5 or so) so you don't have to worry about reception problems. You can also rent a FanView scanner that comes with ear protection, a little tv, all of the current race stats and such. Totally worth the money, though they're a little pricey at $50. You've already invested as much money as you have, invest $50 more and actually know what's going on during the race. Sunscreen is a must, as well. Bring your own food and drinks unless you like $4 warm Cokes and $10 overcooked chicken fingers. We usually grab Subway on the way to the track along with 2-4 frozen bottles of water to keep us cool. They melt throughout the day, providing coolness and water to drink. Sunscreen, food, SHOES, and ear protection. A cheap pair of binoculars help, as well. And sunglasses. Good luck and have fun! You'll soon know why so many of us are fans! It takes a while to go to our first race, but our second race is usually no more than 6 months later, you get hooked on the stuff!
