Is this story true? (Yeast Fermentation)?

My friend told a story about a dog that ate three loaves of bread dough that were set out to rise, and stated that the dog later was seen stumbling around (as if intoxicated from the alcohol that had been produced either in his stomach or in the dough). Can someone explain how this would be possible, and if you could, use anaerobic glycolysis in your answer : )
